The KENNERLIEIGH mattress is a high quality pocket sprung mattress, hand-made to order in Dartmoor, Devon by Enchanted House Beds. A small team of master craftsmen, with a combined 160 years of experience, make all of their mattresses using traditional methods, materials and techniques.
THE FINEST LOOSE DARTMOOR WOOL
Enchanted House pride themselves as being the UK’s only luxury bed maker to produce ALL of their own wool. Upholstered by hand with the finest, loose Dartmoor wool, every single strand is sourced from their own family farms on Dartmoor.
HAND-TEASED NATURAL FILLINGS
Each year, 3 tons of wool is taken from the farm and hand-teased into the mattresses. Whilst being a labour intensive process, this gives a significantly better feel to a mattress. The benefits of hand-teasing become apparent as soon as you try the mattress – a luxurious softness, exceptional support and a faster recovery of shape. The Dousland mattress features a deep cotton support layer which sits underneath the Dartmoor wool to help maximise your comfort.
INCREASED LONGEVITY
The mattress is upholstered on both sides of its 1200 pocket springs and requires regular turning. Turning a naturally filled mattress to use both sides will significantly increase its lifespan. This is particularly important when the mattress is brand new, as the fillings will be encouraged to settle evenly to avoid body impressions. A full care guide is supplied with each new Enchanted House mattress.
HAND SIDE STITCHED BORDERS
The mattress features 2 rows of traditional hand side-stitching. This pulls the outside rows of springs together all the way around the mattress giving it a true, and firmer, edge to edge support. Enchanted House use a totally natural thread (flax) unlike many competitors who will use polyester or nylon.
Featured with carry handles.
Air vents are situated on the side borders of the mattress allowing air to pass through freely reducing moisture, which keeps the mattress clean and fresh.
